A Loopa Family Group lets up to six people — one organizer plus five others — share two things:
- The organizer's Loopa Premium Family subscription. Members get the full Premium app without buying their own.
- A shared pantry, if each member individually turns it on. The meal planner and shopping list then work from the household's food instead of a personal list.
Everyone keeps their own Loopa account, their own plan, and their own targets.
Which plan shares, and which does not
Loopa Premium comes in two shapes, and only one of them covers a group:
- Loopa Premium — $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year. Covers one person.
- Loopa Premium Family — $19.99 a month or $119.99 a year. Covers up to six.
If the organizer is on the single-person plan the group still works: everyone stays in it, invitations still work, and the shared pantry still works. The one thing that does not happen is Premium reaching the other members. The Family Group screen says so plainly, and tells the organizer what would change it.
If you were already a Premium member on 16 August 2026, when the two plans split, your subscription keeps covering your group for as long as you keep it — see [[Loopa Premium and Loopa Premium Family]].
What is never shared
Your food diary, weight, water, vital signs, body measurements, progress photos, targets, allergen list and never-eat list are never visible to anyone in your group. Not to the organizer. Not to anyone. There is no monitoring or oversight capability in the product, in any direction.
Sharing covers the subscription and, with your explicit opt-in, the pantry. It never covers the diary. That is enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the app.
This is not Apple Family Sharing
Apple Family Sharing is a feature of the App Store. If someone in your Apple family bought Loopa Premium and shares it, we honour that, and your app will say your Premium comes from Apple Family Sharing.
A Loopa Family Group is our own feature. It exists mainly to cover the people Apple cannot: Android members, and households that mix iPhone and Android. The two work side by side, and neither replaces the other.
