Summary
Low FODMAP: your own group settings and per-food marks, scanning a packet, choosing it against the recommendation, the recipe library, and where food data comes from

'''Low FODMAP recipes''' is a library of real dishes, each one checked by Loopa at one serving before it appears.

You will find it from the food page. Open a recipe to see its ingredient list and what a serving comes to, then follow the link to cook it at the site that published it.

== Loopa does the checking ==

Recipes come in from a recipe database that can filter on low FODMAP. That filter decides which recipes Loopa looks at. It does not decide what you see.

Every recipe is then measured a second time, by Loopa, against the published per-serving thresholds the rest of the protocol uses. Loopa resolves each ingredient to the portion you would actually eat, adds up the six groups across the whole serving, and only publishes the recipe if nothing crosses a line. A recipe that fails is not shown to you at all.

That is why the card says '''Loopa checked, per serving''' rather than repeating somebody else's label. FODMAP content depends on how much you eat, and a label with no serving behind it cannot answer that.

== Several small amounts still add up ==

A recipe is judged as a plate, not as a list. Four ingredients that are each fine on their own can be over the line together, and a recipe that adds up that way is left out of the library for exactly that reason. It is the same rule '''Check before you eat''' applies to a meal you are logging.

== Filters ==

  • '''Elimination-safe''': every group is under its threshold in one serving. Every recipe in the library carries this.
  • '''Neutral for a challenge''': the recipe contributes nothing measurable in any of the six groups, so it will not muddy a reintroduction test you are running that day
  • '''Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, dessert'''
  • '''Under 30 minutes, 30 to 60, over an hour'''
  • '''Protein-forward''': at least 20 g of protein in a serving
  • '''Plant-based'''

Filters combine. Ask for a plant-based breakfast and you get recipes that are both.

== What Loopa could not check ==

Salt, water, pepper and most herbs have never been measured for FODMAP content, because there is nothing in them to measure. Loopa counts those ingredients as unchecked rather than as zero, tells you how many there were, and only publishes a recipe where enough of the dish did resolve for the answer to be about the dish.

Unchecked is never treated as a pass. It is the same rule the food search follows: where there is no published measurement, you are told so rather than reassured.

== Cooking instructions ==

Loopa stores what identifies a recipe and what a serving of it contains. The method belongs to whoever wrote it, so every recipe links out to them and you cook from their page.

== While you are in a phase ==

When you ask Loopa what to eat during restriction, reintroduction or personalization, the real dishes it offers come from this library rather than from an open recipe search. A checked dish and an unchecked one sitting side by side is the confusion the library exists to remove.

Recipe data is provided by Edamam.
