Your tolerance profile

2 min read · 328 words · 1 revision · Updated Sep 7, 2026

Your tolerance profile is what the protocol is for. Six groups, and what your own log showed about each.

What the statuses mean

Status What it means
Not tested yet You have not run a challenge for this group. It is not the same as "fine"
No reaction You tested it and your log showed no change
Fine up to a point Steady up to the serving shown, changed above it
Mixed Some change on the larger servings only
Reacted A clear change. Worth retesting in a few months

None of these says anything about what you have. They describe what your log showed.

Foods you have brought back

Phase 3 keeps a list of the groups you have restored, and that is the list Loopa celebrates. There is no streak for days avoided and no badge for strictness anywhere in this protocol, by design: a diet you are meant to leave should not be rewarding you for staying in it.

Most people restore most groups. The blinded research found an average of about two and a half reacting groups out of six (Van den Houte K et al., Gastroenterology, 2024 · doi:10.1053/j.gastro.2024.02.008).

Retesting

A group you reacted to is scheduled for a retest a few months out, and Loopa will remind you. Tolerance changes, and a result that is never revisited becomes a food you avoid for years on the strength of three days.

You can bring a retest forward whenever you like.

How your profile is used

Once you are in the personalization phase, meal checks are judged against your profile rather than against the general thresholds. A group you tolerated is ordinary food again and stops being flagged. A group you are fine with up to a serving is checked against that serving. An untested group is a gentle caution, never a refusal, there is no evidence against something nobody tested.
