A member can leave a Loopa Family Group whenever they like, the organizer can remove anybody, and the organizer can end the whole group. None of these deletes anything anybody logged.
All of it is on You › Preferences › Family Group.
Leaving, as a member
- Tap Leave group near the bottom of the screen.
- Loopa asks Leave this group? "You keep everything you have logged. Items you added to the shared pantry stay with the household."
- Tap Leave, or Cancel.
What happens:
- If the group was covering your Premium, that coverage ends. Your own subscription, if you have one, carries on as before. See What happens if the organizer's subscription ends for what Loopa Basic keeps.
- You stop using the shared pantry. Your personal pantry was never touched and is exactly as you left it. Items you added to the shared pantry stay with the household, still showing your name.
- Meals the family shared with you and you logged stay in your diary; they are yours.
- You can join another family group, or rejoin this one, with a new invitation.
Removing somebody, as the organizer
Tap the ⋯ beside their name and choose Remove from group. It takes effect as soon as you tap it, with no confirmation. They are out of the group, the seat is free, and everything they logged stays theirs.
Dissolving the group, as the organizer
- Tap Dissolve group.
- Loopa asks Dissolve this group? "Everyone returns to their own subscription and their own pantry. Nothing anybody logged is deleted."
- Tap Dissolve, or Cancel.
Everybody is out at once, and Premium stops reaching anybody through the group. Each person keeps their own account, subscription and records.
An organizer cannot leave without dissolving, and there is no way to hand the organizer role to somebody else. To pass a group on, dissolve it and have the new organizer create one and invite everybody again.
If you are on Loopa Basic
The Family Group screen needs Loopa Premium to open, so somebody the group does not cover cannot reach Leave group in the app. Leaving is never refused for lack of Premium: email support@mobieus.io and we will take you out.
Deleting your account instead
Deleting your Loopa account takes you out of the group as well, and is covered in Family groups and deleting your account.
