Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.
Loopa on iPhone has a few protections that work on the phone itself. You can lock the app behind Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, your health screens are covered while the screen is recorded or mirrored, and the files Loopa makes for you don't stay on the phone. All of them are free on every plan.
App Lock
Where: You, the account section at the bottom: App Lock · Face ID (or Touch ID, or your passcode, depending on what your phone uses).
- Turning it on asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode first, so nobody else can switch it on and lock you out.
- When it locks. Every time Loopa starts, and whenever you come back to it after more than 60 seconds away. A glance at Control Center or copying a code from another app doesn't lock it.
- The lock screen says Locked and asks for Face ID straight away. If that fails or you cancel, tap Unlock with Face ID (or Touch ID, or your passcode) to try again.
- Turning it off is the same switch.
The switch doesn't appear on a phone with no Face ID, Touch ID or passcode set up.
App Lock is separate from signing in. It protects the app on this phone; signing in proves who you are to your account. See Installing and signing in.
On Android, App Lock is in Settings and works the same way.
Hidden while recording
When the screen is being recorded, or mirrored to another screen, Loopa covers what it shows with Hidden while recording: "Your health data is hidden while the screen is being recorded or mirrored. Stop the recording to see it again."
If you started the recording on purpose, tap Show anyway. Your data shows for as long as that recording lasts. The next recording is covered again.
Files Loopa makes for you
When you export a CSV or a PDF from the app, the file is deleted from the phone an hour after the export, and when you sign out. If you want to keep one, save or send it somewhere within that hour. The draft of a habit you are building is kept out of your iCloud backup.
When you are offline
A bar across the screen says "You're offline. Anything you log will sync when you're back." It goes away by itself when the connection returns.
Signing in with your face or finger
App Lock is not the same as a passkey. A passkey replaces typing your password when you sign in, and you add one from You › Add a passkey. See Signing in with a passkey.
