Say it and it is in your diary. Ask your phone's assistant to log water, food, a workout or activity, and Loopa records it without you unlocking anything or opening the app. Hands wet, hands full, mid-set, driving. The log still happens, and you hear it confirmed out loud.
Voice logging is part of Loopa Premium.
What you can say
Four things: water, food, workouts and activity. Your phone hears you, Loopa writes it down, and reads back where it left you.
On iPhone
Say "Hey Siri", then any of these:
- "Ask Loopa to log a glass of water"
- "Log water in Loopa" · Siri asks how much
- "Log food in Loopa" · then say what you ate
- "Log a workout in Loopa"
- "Log activity in Loopa"
"Log", "add", "track" and "record" all work, so you do not have to remember one exact wording.
You will hear something like: "Logged a glass of water. You're at 40 ounces today, 24 to go."
On Android
Gemini is the assistant Loopa works with. Say "Hey Google", then:
- "Log a glass of water in Loopa"
- "Log food in Loopa"
- "Log a workout in Loopa"
- "Log activity in Loopa"
Loopa speaks the same confirmation back and leaves a notification you can tap to see the entry.
Setting it up
iPhone
Nothing to set up. The phrases are ready the moment you install Loopa. You can see them all in the Shortcuts app under Loopa, and you can add any of them to your Action Button if your iPhone has one.
Android
Gemini needs to be your assistant. Open Settings, search for "digital assistant app", and choose Gemini. Loopa's four actions are then available to it.
You can also long-press the Loopa icon on your home screen to get the same four actions without speaking at all.
Units
Say the amount the way you would say it to a person. Loopa understands ounces, milliliters, liters, cups, glasses and bottles, and converts for you.
A glass and a cup both count as 8 fl oz. A bottle is 16.9 fl oz, the standard single-serve size.
If Loopa cannot find a food
Say anything and it gets logged under exactly the words you used, including "my mum's chilli" or a dish nobody has a barcode for. When Loopa does not have calories for it, your assistant tells you so, and the entry waits in your diary with a note. Open Loopa when you have a moment and put the numbers in; everything else about it is already saved.
Things worth knowing
- Your voice never reaches Loopa. Siri and Gemini do the listening and send Loopa the finished instruction: an amount, a food, a duration. No audio is recorded, sent or stored by Loopa.
- Saying it twice by accident is safe. If your assistant retries because your connection was slow, Loopa recognizes it as the same request and logs it once.
- Backdating is not a voice feature. Everything you say by voice lands on today. Use the app to log another day.
Troubleshooting
"Open Loopa and sign in, then try again"
Your session has ended. Open Loopa, sign in, and the phrases work again straight away.
It says voice logging is part of Premium
Voice logging is a Premium feature. Open Loopa to see what Premium includes. Everything you already log by hand stays free and unchanged.
It logged the wrong amount
Open Loopa and tap the entry to correct it. Saying the unit clearly helps ("eight ounces" rather than "eight") because your assistant sends Loopa whatever it heard.
A food came in without calories
That is Loopa telling you it did not recognize the food rather than guessing at a number. Tap the entry and add the calories, and it counts like any other.
Nothing happened at all
On Android, check Gemini is set as your digital assistant app. On both platforms, try saying "Loopa" clearly as part of the phrase. The assistant needs to hear which app you mean.
