Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.

Siri and Shortcuts let you log to Loopa by voice or from the Shortcuts app without opening it. The app exposes five actions (log water, log weight, start a fast, end a fast, and check calories left), each usable as a spoken phrase, a Shortcuts building block, or a Spotlight result. They run against your account with the app closed, so a quick "log my water" logs it and moves on. For the app itself, see Using the iOS app.

The five actions

These are the exact intents the app publishes. Every phrase ends in the app's name ("Loopa"), which is how Siri knows to route it.

Log Water

Logs ounces of water into today's log. It defaults to 8 ounces (and accepts anywhere from 1 to 128). Try:

  • "Log water in Loopa"
  • "Log my water in Loopa"
  • "Add water in Loopa"
  • "Log water in Loopa"

Siri replies with how much you filed and how much is left, e.g. "Filed. 8 ounces down, 24 to go", or tells you the target's met. This is the same action behind the +8 buttons on the widgets (see Home Screen widgets) and feeds The Water screen.

Log Weight

Logs today's weigh-in. If you don't say a number, Siri asks "What's the number on the scale?" It logs in your display unit (pounds or kilos). Try:

  • "Log my weight in Loopa"
  • "Log weight in Loopa"
  • "Log my weight in Loopa"
  • "Weigh in on Loopa"

Start Fast

Opens a fast on the clock. You can name a protocol (16:8, 18:6, 20:4, OMAD); if you don't, it starts a 16:8. If a fast is already running it tells you how far in you are and asks you to end that one first. Starting a fast this way also lights up the Fasting Live Activity. Try:

  • "Start my fast in Loopa"
  • "Start fasting in Loopa"
  • "Open a fast in Loopa"

End Fast

Closes the running fast and saves it, reporting how many hours you went. If nothing's running it says so. Try:

  • "End my fast in Loopa"
  • "Stop my fast in Loopa"
  • "Stop fasting in Loopa"
  • "Close my fast in Loopa"

Start Fast and End Fast are what drive The Fasting timer and its Live Activity from your voice.

Calories Left

Reports how much room is left in today's fuel budget, along with how much protein you still have to go. For example: "You have 480 calories left today; protein has 58 grams to go." Try:

  • "How many calories do I have left in Loopa"
  • "Calories left in Loopa"
  • "How much can I eat in Loopa"
  • "Check my fuel in Loopa"

If your targets aren't set up yet, it points you back to the app to finish setup.

Where these show up

  • Siri: say any phrase above.
  • The Shortcuts app: each action appears as a Loopa block you can drop into your own shortcuts and automations (for example, "Log Water" fired by a time-of-day automation). The app's Shortcuts tiles use its red accent.
  • Spotlight: the same actions surface in search.

When it can't complete

Because these run with the app closed, they depend on you being signed in. If you're not, Siri says "You're signed out. Open Loopa and sign in, then try me again." If your account can't be reached, it tells you nothing was logged so you can try again in a minute. It won't half-save an entry. After any successful log the widgets refresh so their numbers match right away.
