Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.

Onboarding (called "Welcome to Loopa" in the app) is the native setup wizard that runs the first time you reach your health hub. It signs the health agreement, then asks one question per screen, and ends by revealing your personalized plan. It opens full-screen right after you sign in if you have a seat but haven't finished setup yet, and you can resume it any time from the Health tab. See Installing and signing in for the step before this and Today's Page for where you land after.

General wellness tracking, not medical advice.

How the wizard works

Setup is resume-safe. Your answers snapshot to the device after every screen and checkpoint to the server at each chapter boundary, so an interrupted setup picks up exactly where you left off. The Health tab even shows a card saying how many questions you have left. Nothing marks your setup "done" until the final step commits. The questions are grouped into five chapters shown across the top with a progress line: SUBJECT, GOAL, FOOD, TRACKERS, and SAFETY. A back chevron returns to the previous question, and a SKIP link appears on the optional screens (water goal, never-eat list, INR band, health context).

The agreement

Before any question, a one-time agreement gate ("Before we get started") lays out three things in plain language:

  • What this is: tools, numbers, and honest guidance; not medical care, and never a replacement for your doctor.
  • Your data: everything you log is encrypted so only you can read it; admins see aggregates, never your entries.
  • The agreement: one signature covers how your health data is handled and what you're responsible for.

Read the full agreement opens the complete document (with its version and effective date). I agree. Open my file records your signature and stamps SIGNED. If you tap Not now, a prompt reminds you that without the agreement no health data can be stored. The agreement is only shown again if a new version is published.

SUBJECT: your body

The first chapter sets the basics the math needs:

  • Units: metric or imperial (it defaults to your device's region).
  • Sex and age.
  • Height and current weight (entered and shown in your chosen units).

GOAL: where you're headed

  • Goal weight: a suggested healthy target is offered, based on your height.
  • Activity level: Sedentary, Lightly active, Moderately active, Very active, or Athlete.
  • Loss speed: Maintain (no deficit), Slow (about half a pound a week), Moderate (about a pound), Aggressive (about two pounds), or Diabolical (maximum deficit, never below your BMR).

FOOD: how you eat

  • Diet style: Keto, Low carb, High protein, Paleo, Vegetarian, Vegan, Low calorie, Mediterranean, DASH, Heart healthy, Low sodium, or Custom. Each preset carries a carb cap and a protein target; you can switch to custom macros and set your own protein-per-pound and carb limit.
  • Water goal: in ounces (a sensible default is offered from your weight). Optional.
  • Never-eat list: allergens and foods to keep off every plan and flag in anything you log. Optional.

TRACKERS: what you want to follow

You choose which trackers are switched on. Food, Water, Activity, Measurements, Vitals, and Goals are on by default. Blood glucose, INR, Supplements, Fasting, and Cycle start off. Flip on any you want. Cycle tracking is offered only if you set your sex to female. If you turn INR on, an extra screen asks for your target band (for example 2.0–3.0); see INR and blood thinners.

SAFETY: health context

The last chapter is optional context: any health conditions, medications you take, and whether you are pregnant or nursing. It's used to keep guidance sensible and never shared.

Your plan reveal

When you finish, the app runs a short "RUNNING YOUR NUMBERS… / SETTING TARGETS… / SETTING YOU UP…" beat and shows your personalized plan: daily calorie target and protein/carb/fat macros, computed on the server from everything you entered. From here you can jump straight into logging your first meal or go to your hub. If setup can't be saved (for example, a dropped connection), a "Filing Error" card keeps your answers safe and offers Try Again.

Editing later and re-running

Everything here lives under Health Settings afterward, grouped into rows you can edit one at a time (Body & goal, Activity & pace, Diet & macros, Water goal, Never-eat list, Trackers, INR band, and Health context), each with a Save that stores only what you changed. There's also a Re-run Setup option to walk the whole wizard again. For the concepts behind these fields, see Setting up your profile and Goals.
