Blood glucose is the amount of sugar in your blood, measured in mg/dL. Loopa logs it inside Vitals tracking and grades each reading against the American Diabetes Association ranges, split by whether you measured fasting or after a meal.

Glucose tracking is informational only. It is not a diagnosis and not medical advice. Only a clinician can diagnose or treat diabetes. Bring these numbers to your appointments.

Log a reading

On the Vitals page:

  1. Enter your glucose in mg/dL.
  2. Choose Fasting or Post-meal. The timing travels with the reading and sets which range it is graded against.
  3. Save.

Fasting means no food or drink other than water for at least 8 hours, usually first thing in the morning. Post-meal readings are typically taken about 2 hours after you start eating.

What the ranges mean

Loopa uses the ADA thresholds.[1]

Fasting

  • Normal: 70 to 99 mg/dL
  • Pre-diabetes: 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • High (diabetes range): 126 mg/dL or higher

Post-meal

  • Normal: under 140 mg/dL
  • Elevated: 140 to 199 mg/dL
  • High (diabetes range): 200 mg/dL or higher

A single high reading is not a diagnosis. Diagnosis needs repeat testing and a clinician. What matters here is your pattern over time.

A note on low readings

A reading below 70 mg/dL is low (hypoglycemia). If you feel shaky, sweaty, confused, or dizzy, treat it right away with fast-acting carbs and follow the plan your clinician gave you. Log the reading afterward so the pattern is captured.

Track the trend

Because timing travels with each reading, the Trends card charts fasting and post-meal glucose as separate 30-day lines, each against its own range. Steady habits (same time, same conditions) make the trend far more useful than any one number.
