The Vitals screen

Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.

The Vitals screen is where you log and review readings like blood pressure, resting heart rate, blood glucose, INR, and sleep. You reach it from Today's Page (scroll down to The Log and tap Vitals) or straight from The Quick-Log button by choosing Vitals. See Using the iOS app for the wider tour, and Vitals tracking for the background on why these numbers matter.

General wellness tracking, not medical advice.

Logging a reading

The top of the screen is a New Reading card with a stepper field for each measurement. Type a value or use the −/+ steppers:

  • Systolic · mmHg (steps of 1)
  • Diastolic · mmHg (steps of 1)
  • Resting HR · bpm (steps of 1)
  • Glucose · mg/dL (steps of 1)
  • INR · no unit (steps of 0.1)
  • Sleep · hours (steps of 0.5)

You only fill in what you have. One field is enough. The Log Reading button stays dimmed until at least one field holds a number, then turns on. Filing saves the reading, clears the fields, drops a LOGGED confirmation, and adds the entry to your history. A keyboard Done button dismisses the number pad.

Blood pressure and glucose are grounded here in Blood glucose and Vitals tracking; if you're tracking INR because of a blood thinner, INR and blood thinners explains the ranges.

The status badge

When a reading includes both systolic and diastolic, a heart-icon badge classifies the blood pressure using AHA-style categories, and it always pairs the color with a word so it never depends on color alone:

  • Normal · systolic under 120
  • Elevated · systolic 120–129
  • High-1 · 130+ systolic or 80+ diastolic
  • High-2 · 140+ systolic or 90+ diastolic
  • Crisis · 180+ systolic or 120+ diastolic

The badge is a quick read, not a diagnosis.

The record

Below the entry card, The Record lists your past readings grouped by day, newest first. Each entry shows the time it was logged, the stats it carries (BP as systolic/diastolic, HR, Glucose, INR and Sleep), and the blood-pressure badge on the right. A day can hold several readings, each shown on its own line.

If you've never logged anything, you'll see the empty state No entries yet over "Log a reading to start your vitals record." Pull down on the list to refresh it, and if a load fails you'll get a retry prompt.

Deleting a reading

Press and hold any reading to bring up its context menu, then choose Strike from the record. A confirmation dialog asks "Strike this reading from the record?" with a Strike reading button; confirm and the entry is removed, with a STRUCK FROM THE RECORD toast. Older single-reading days can be struck the same way.

Where these numbers go

Your latest sleep, blood pressure, and INR feed the glance shown on Today's Page, and the full history flows into the charts on Trends on iOS. Sleep hours logged here are the same figure you can save from the Sleep check-in. See Daily check-ins.
