Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.
Display & Layout sets how Loopa lays itself out and how it writes dates and times: which rings Today shows, which tab the app opens on, how far back charts look, and the date and clock style. Your choices are saved to your account, so they follow you to every device you sign in on.
Display & Layout is free on every plan, Loopa Basic included.
Opening it
You tab › Preferences › Display › Display & Layout ("Dates, which rings Today shows, and where Loopa opens. These follow you to every device you sign in on.").
Each setting is a row showing its current choice. Tap it to change it; the change saves straight away. If a save fails you see "Couldn't save that. Try again." and the row goes back to what it was.
Layout
"These follow you to every device you sign in on."
Rings on Today
Choose the three rings at the top of Today's Page and their order. The row shows your current three. The choices are Fuel, Water, Move, Protein, Steps, Fasting and Weight. The default is Fuel, Water and Move.
The Rings on Today screen has two lists:
- Showing: your three, in order. Drag to reorder ("Drag to reorder. Tap one below to swap it in.").
- Not showing: the rest. Tap + beside one to swap it in; it replaces the last ring in Showing.
There are always exactly three.
The Android app's Today screen follows this choice. The iPhone app saves it, but its Today card currently keeps showing Fuel, Water and Move whatever you pick.
Open the app on
The tab Loopa opens on: Health (the default), Progress, Coach, Community or You. It applies the next time the app starts from scratch, not when you come back to it from the background.
Charts look back
7 days, 30 days (the default), 90 days or 180 days. This sets the range that Trends, Summary and the Weekly report start on, on every device. Trends and the Weekly report offer 7, 30 and 90 days; Summary also offers 180. Changing the range on one of those screens changes it on the other two on this phone.
On Loopa Basic, charts read your last 30 days, so a longer range shows the same 30 days.
Units
The Units & Measurements row shows your current system: Metric, Imperial (US) or Custom. Tap it to choose units. See Change your units and measurements.
Dates and times
- Dates: Match my device, Month first (Mar 4) (the default) or Day first (4 Mar).
- Clock: Match my device, 12-hour (2:05 PM) (the default) or 24-hour (14:05).
"'Match my device' follows your phone's own region and clock settings." The Reminders screen always shows times in 12-hour form.
More
If a newer version of Loopa adds a display setting this version of the app doesn't know where to put, it appears under More so you can still change it.
Reset to defaults
Once you've changed anything, Reset to defaults appears at the bottom: "Puts every option on this screen back to how Loopa ships."
If it can't load
While it loads you see grey placeholder rows. If it can't load it says "Couldn't load that. Try again." (or the reason) with a retry. If there is nothing to set: Nothing To Set, "Your display options will appear here."
Appearance
There is no light or dark switch here: Loopa follows your phone. See Light and dark mode.
On Android
Android has the same Display & Layout screen with the same settings.
