Loopa tracks your calories and macros every time you log food, then shows the day filling up against your targets. This page explains what each number means and how to read your rings, so the totals actually guide your choices.

General wellness tracking, not medical advice. Your targets are estimates.

What gets tracked

Every food you log counts toward:

  • Calories: your daily energy total. See Understanding calories.
  • Protein, carbs, and fat: your three macronutrients. See Macronutrients explained.
  • Fiber: tracked alongside your macros.
  • Net carbs: carbs minus fiber, which is what the carb ring uses.

There is also a clinical read of sodium and added sugar against a daily reference, useful if you watch your blood pressure or blood sugar. The reference lines follow the FDA Daily Values of 2,300 mg of sodium and 50 g of added sugar per day.[1] Go over and the number turns red.

The macro rings

The top of the Food and macros page and your dashboard show four rings: calories, protein, net carbs, and fat. Each ring fills as you log and labels how much is remaining or how far over you are. A ring turns red once you pass its target. Below the rings, a calorie bar and a macro line spell out the same totals in numbers.

Where your targets come from

Your targets are built during setup from your age, sex, height, weight, goal, activity level, and diet style. Your diet style sets the split between protein, carbs, and fat, and you can override it with your own protein and carb targets. Change any of it in Settings and your rings retarget right away. Set or adjust weight and other goals on the Goals page.

The net calorie budget

Your calorie ring is a net budget: target minus food, plus any exercise you log. If you use Activity tracking, the calories you burn are added back as headroom, so an active day gives you more room to eat and the ring will not turn red while you are still inside your net budget. A line tells you when you have "earned a snack".

Reading a day

  • Green numbers and unfilled rings mean room to spare.
  • A full ring means you hit the target.
  • Red means over. That is fine now and then, and one day rarely moves your weight trend.

Use the date arrows on the food page to review or fix a past day. For vitamins and minerals rather than macros, see Micronutrients.
