Logging food is the core of Loopa. The Food and macros page lets you add anything you eat in one flow, then shows the day building up against your calorie and macro targets. Everything updates in place, so you never lose your spot.
General wellness tracking, not medical advice.
The day at a glance
The top of the page shows today's totals: your macro rings, a calorie bar with how much is left, and a line for protein, net carbs, fat, and fiber against your targets. Below that is a clinical read of sodium and added sugar against a daily reference, handy if you watch your blood sugar or blood pressure. Use the arrows by the date to review or edit a past day. See Calorie and macro tracking for what each number means.
Log a food
There is one box to log anything. Start typing what you ate and Loopa searches its food database as you go.
- Type a food (two or more letters). A dropdown of matches appears with calories and serving size. See Food search.
- Pick a match. Its name, serving, and macros fill in automatically, and the name shows as a confirmed chip so you never type it twice.
- Set the amount. Use the Servings stepper to scale up or down, and every macro recomputes live. You can also type an amount like "1 cup" or "150 g".
- Choose the meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and more). Loopa pre-picks one based on the time of day.
- Log it. The food drops into your diary and your rings move.
When nothing matches
If the database has no match, you get two options:
- Estimate it with mobieusAI: describe the food and mobieusAI fills in the calories and macros for you. You can save that estimate to your own foods for next time.
- Enter it manually: type the macros yourself.
Every macro field (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sodium, and added sugar) stays editable, so you can tweak any value before logging. With mobieusAI on, an Update for amount button recalculates the macros for the exact portion you entered.
Your diary
The diary lists everything you logged today, grouped by meal, with a subtotal for each meal. Heavy-sodium items get a High sodium chip so nothing sneaks past you.
- Edit a row to change the servings or move it to a different meal. The preview updates as you adjust, and saving refreshes your totals in one step.
- Remove a row with the "x" button.
Faster ways to log
- Recent foods: one tap re-logs something you eat often as a snack.
- Log a meal: saved meal templates log all their components at once. Build them under My meals and tap to log from here.
- Scan a barcode: for packaged food, see Barcode scanning.
- Snap a photo: estimate a whole plate with Meal photo AI.
What should I eat next?
When mobieusAI is on, the What should I eat next? button gives you three ideas that fit your remaining macros, use what you have on hand, and skip anything on your never-eat list. Pick one to log it, get a recipe, or add it to your plan. Tell it your meal type, any craving, and foods on hand, or pull from your pantry chips.
On hand (pantry)
Keep a list of ingredients you have at home. mobieusAI uses it to make its suggestions and shopping lists more useful. See Meal planner.
