Your profile and other members' profiles

Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.

Every member has a community profile: a picture, a name, a short bio, who they follow and what they have posted. This page covers your own profile and what you see on somebody else's in the iPhone app. Profiles are part of Loopa Basic.

A profile never shows anybody's health data. Not their weight, food, fasting, measurements or photos, and not their achievements or badges. The only health-related thing another member can ever see on a profile is a friend's streak badge, and only if that friend switched it on; see Friends and following.

Your own profile

You › My Profile (the first row on the You tab). At the top are your avatar, display name, "@username", bio, and how many Followers and how many people you are Following.

Below that, and visible only to you:

  • Progress. How far you are towards your goal ("N% TO GOAL"), your Current and Goal weight in your own weight unit, your BMI, ON TRACK with the date you are on track for, and DAYS LOGGED. The card is hidden until you have finished setting up.
  • Dashboard and Trends, which jump to Today on the Health tab and to Trends.
  • Start Over, which erases your entire health file and starts setup again. It asks Start over?: "This erases your entire health file and can't be undone. Your account and membership stay." Tap Continue and you are asked to type ERASE to confirm; Cancel stops there. When it is done, setup starts again. See Erasing your health record.

Recent Dispatches lists up to ten of your recent posts. Tap one to open its thread.

To change your picture, name or bio, see Your profile and the You tab.

Somebody else's profile

You reach another member's profile in a few ways, and there are two slightly different screens.

  • From Community › People › Following, tapping a person opens the same layout as your own profile (avatar, name, @username, bio, follower counts, Recent Dispatches), without the Progress card, the jumps or Start Over.
  • From an author's name in a forum thread, a person in Search, or View profile in a conversation, you get the Profile screen: the same header and counts, and Recent posts (up to ten).
  • A friend's profile from Community › People › Friends is a different screen again, with your friendship and their streak; see Friends and following.

Follow

The Follow button on another member's profile puts their posts in your feed. Tap it again (it then reads Following) to stop. It changes at once, and they do not have to agree. Following does not make you friends. See Friends and following.

Report and block

The ⋯ in the top right offers:

  • Report user. Opens the report sheet; see Community rules and reporting.
  • Block user. Blocks them at once, with no confirmation, and closes their profile. Unblock from Community › People › Discovery › Blocked members.

What is not on a profile

  • There is no Message button. To write to somebody, start a conversation from Community › Messages; see Messages.
  • There is no Add friend button on these two screens. Use their invite link, or Search by username in Friends.
  • There are no achievements, karma, credits or levels on any profile in the app.
