Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.

Forums on iOS is the community's discussion directory, the Forums tab on the bottom bar. Where The Feed is a single stream of the newest posts, Forums lets you browse discussions by topic: categories, the forums inside them, and the threads inside those. It sits on the same light background under the Loopa masthead. See The app layout and tabs and Using the iOS app for the bigger picture.

Browsing categories and forums

The Forums tab inside Community lists categories, each a stamped header with the forums grouped under it.

  • Tap a category header to collapse or expand it. Categories start expanded; the chevron rotates to show the state, and a collapsed category shows its forum count (for example "6 FORUMS"). Your collapse choices are remembered between visits.
  • Each forum is a card showing its name, a short description, and a "N THREADS · N POSTS" tally.

Tap a forum card to open its threads. Pull down on the list to refresh. If your community has no forums yet, a "No Forums" message stands in.

Reading a forum's threads

Inside a forum you get a list of threads, each showing:

  • A pin icon if the thread is pinned and a lock icon if it's locked.
  • The thread title and a short excerpt.
  • The @author, the reply count, and when the last post landed.

A sort control in the top-left lets you order threads by New, Top, or Hot. The list pages in more threads as you scroll to the bottom, and pull-to-refresh reloads it. If the forum has no threads yet, you'll see "No threads yet" above "Be the first to start a discussion."

Unless the forum is locked, a compose button (the pencil-and-square icon) sits in the top-right. It opens a New thread sheet where you enter a Title and Body and tap Post.

Reading and replying in a thread

Tap a thread to open it. The thread view lists the original post and every reply in order. Each post shows:

  • The author's avatar and @username. Tap either to open that member's profile.
  • A pin marker on a pinned post and the time it was posted.
  • The full formatted body, and an inline video player when a clip is attached.
  • A reaction row.

When the thread is open to posting, a Reply… box sits at the bottom. Type your reply and tap the send arrow; it posts and the thread refreshes. Pull down to reload the thread at any time.

Reactions in threads

Every post in a thread carries the same React control as the Feed: tap it for the six-reaction quick bar, or the "+" for the full set, and tap the reaction cluster to see who reacted. The complete behavior is in Reactions.

Reporting and blocking

Long-press a post in a thread for its menu:

  • Report post. Flag it for review.
  • Report video. Appears when the post has a clip.
  • Block @username. Hides that member's posts everywhere immediately, including the replies already on screen.
