Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.
The Feed is the community stream, the Feed tab inside Community (the first of its three, beside Forums and Messages). It shows the latest dispatches from your community as a scroll of post cards on the light background, with the Loopa wordmark pinned in the masthead above it. For how the Feed sits alongside the other tabs, see The app layout and tabs and Using the iOS app.
What a post card shows
Each post is a card, newest first. On it you'll see:
- The author's username in monospaced type, followed by the forum the post lives in (shown as "· Forum name") and the relative time it was posted.
- The thread title in bold.
- The first few lines of the body text (up to three lines; long posts are trimmed).
- A video stamp when the post has a clip attached (see below).
- A row of reaction controls and a Reply label at the bottom.
The Feed loads the most recent posts and refreshes when you pull down from the top. If you've blocked someone, their posts are dropped from the stream immediately.
Reacting and replying
The bottom of every card carries a React control and a Reply label.
- Tap React (the small face icon) to open the reaction picker. Six quick reactions, plus a "+" that expands to the full set. Once you've reacted, the control reads Reacted and shows your reaction. When a post already has reactions, a small cluster of emoji and a total count appears next to it; tap that cluster to see who reacted. The full mechanics live in Reactions.
- Reply is part of opening the post. Tapping the card takes you into the thread, where the reply box sits at the bottom.
Opening a thread
Tap anywhere on a card to open the full thread. Inside, you'll see the original post and every reply, each with the author's avatar and @username (tap a name to view that member's profile), the full formatted body, any attached video, and its own reaction row. A Reply… box sits at the bottom when the thread is open to posting. Type your reply and tap the send arrow. Pull down inside a thread to refresh it. Forum threads are covered in full in Forums on iOS.
Video posts
The Feed is built to carry video. Two controls start a recording:
- The video button in Community's header, beside the Feed/Forums/Messages tabs.
- The camera button (a video icon with a plus) in the top-right toolbar of the Feed.
Either one opens the video capture flow full-screen. A post that carries a clip shows a boxed VIDEO stamp on its card. While the server is still processing the clip the stamp reads VIDEO · PROCESSING; once it's ready the stamp shows the clip's length (for example VIDEO · 1:24). Open the post to watch it.
Writing a post
The top-right compose button (the pencil-and-square icon) opens the New post sheet. Pick a Forum from the list, give the post a Title, write the Body, and tap Post. The post is created as a new thread in that forum and drops into the Feed. The Post button stays disabled until you've chosen a forum and written a body.
Moderating what you see
Long-press a card for its context menu:
- Report post. Flag the post for review.
- Report video. Appears when the post has a clip.
- Block @username. Hides that member's content across the app right away.
Empty and loading states
While the Feed loads you'll see placeholder skeleton cards. If nothing has been posted yet, the Feed shows a "Nothing here yet" stamp with "No dispatches yet. Be the first to post." and a New Post button. If the Feed can't load, an error card with a retry option appears.
