Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.
The H³ Habits screen is where you build one small routine at a time and check it off each day. H³ is the Healthy Habit Helper. The app keeps one card per habit. You reach it from Today's Page (tap the habits card, or the "+ N more in H³" link under it) or from the health hub's archive menu. See Using the iOS app for how the tabs fit together.
General wellness tracking, not medical advice.
What H³ is
H³ keeps one card per habit. The list is headed Your habits with a counter on the right showing how many habits are active out of the allowed maximum (for example "2/3 ACTIVE"). H³ deliberately caps active habits so you focus on a few at a time.
If you have no habits yet, an empty state stamped No habits yet explains the idea (cue, tiny behavior, reward, outcome, "~66 days to automatic") and offers an Start a habit button to start.
The habit card
Each card shows:
- A round check-in button on the left. Tap it to mark the habit done for today (it fills green with a checkmark) or tap again to undo. Each tap fires a light haptic and records the check-in.
- The habit title, and under it "After your cue" when you named one.
- A Graduated badge with a trophy once a habit has graduated.
- A row of pills: DAY n/66 (how far you are toward automatic), the 30D completion rate (the share of the last 30 days you checked it off), and n.n/5 AUTO (your latest automaticity self-rating).
- A strip of small blocks for recent days, green where you checked in and faint where you didn't.
Tapping anywhere else on the card opens the habit's detail view, which carries the tappable check-in ring, the fuller evidence strip, and the day-of-66 metric. Pull down on the list to refresh.
Building a habit
The + button in the top corner opens Start a habit, the AI-guided builder. It runs full screen, one question per screen, with a back chevron, a "STEP n OF m" counter, and a progress hairline that fills as you go. The eight steps, in order:
- Ambition. "What do you want to change?" in your own words, plus whether this is a new routine or a replacement for an old one.
- Current behavior. "What do you do now?" (evidence, not judgment).
- Cue. "When does it hit?" The when / where / after-what that triggers the habit.
- The tiny version. "What's the tiny version?" Two minutes or less at that same cue, so small it's hard to fail.
- Reward. "What's the payoff?" The immediate reward that closes the loop.
- Outcome. "Where does this take you?" The 30- and 90-day picture.
- Notes. Anything else you want to record (optional).
- Review. The assembled habit plus the guide's summary and micro-goals.
The interview is resume-safe: your answers are saved after every screen, so closing the builder mid-way (the X in the corner) picks up exactly where you left off next time.
The AI guide (coach)
On most question screens, a guide works underneath your text box. It shows a loading placeholder while it thinks, then offers a short reflection line and a set of tappable candidate chips under "Tap One, Or Type Your Own". Tap one to drop it into your answer, or keep typing your own. Once you've written enough, a "Reflect on my words" button asks the guide to respond to what you actually wrote. When something you describe is worth a gentle health note, it appears as a heart banner.
The guide is fail-soft. If it's off or unreachable the screen says the guide is offline and your own words work fine. The interview continues normally, and you never need the AI to finish building a habit.
The review step, micro-goals, and filing
The final Case Summary screen shows:
- An editable habit name.
- The Loop. Cue → today / instead-of → the move → reward → outcome (and notes), assembled from your answers.
- The Guide's Read. The AI coach's short summary of your plan, when available, plus any safety note.
- Micro-Goals · Start Tiny. Proposed first steps you tap to include or leave out. Included ones save alongside the habit.
Start This Habit saves it through the ordinary create endpoints, so a habit built on iPhone shows up identically on the web H³. A success haptic confirms it and the list refreshes.
Check-ins, streaks, automaticity, and graduating
Day to day you just tap the check-in circle on the list. The DAY n/66 pill tracks progress toward roughly 66 days, the point where a behavior tends to run on its own. AUTO is your own 1–5 rating of how automatic it feels, and 30D is how consistently you've checked in over the last month. When a habit has matured it earns the Graduated trophy badge. Your habit adherence and automaticity trend also appear in The full report.
