The Weight screen

Part of the Loopa iOS app guide.

On iPhone you log a weigh-in from the + button and read your weigh-ins on the Weight screen. This page covers both. For what the numbers mean and how the trend is read, see Weight tracking.

General wellness tracking, not medical advice.

Which plan

Logging your weight, reading your weigh-ins and deleting one are part of Loopa Basic, on every plan. On Loopa Basic the Weight screen lists your last 30 days; with Loopa Premium it lists your last 90. Building a plan for a target date is part of Loopa Premium; see Picking a target date.

Logging a weigh-in

Tap the + button at the bottom of the app and choose Weight. The Log Weight sheet opens full screen; close it with the X at the top left. The Log weight tile on the Quick Log widget opens the same sheet.

  • Weight is a number field with minus and plus buttons, in the body-weight unit you chose in Units & Measurements. The buttons move 0.1 kg or 0.2 lb at a time, and you can type the number.
  • If your unit is stones and pounds, the sheet has two fields instead: Stone (moves 1 at a time) and Pounds (moves half a pound at a time).
  • The field opens empty. Type today's number.
  • Save stays dimmed until you enter a number above zero.

A weigh-in is always filed for today, at the time you save it. There is no date picker on iPhone, so you can't log a weigh-in for an earlier day from the app. Saving a second weigh-in on the same day replaces the first: Loopa keeps one weight per day.

When the save works the sheet closes with a short success buzz. If it fails, a banner reads "Not saved. Check the number and try again." and the number you typed stays in the field.

Saving from the + button does not show a confirmation stamp, and at the moment it does not show the milestone card either. When you log from the Body Fat screen's Log a weigh-in button, a WEIGHT SAVED stamp confirms it, or the milestone card appears if the weigh-in crossed one. See Weight milestone celebrations.

You can also log your weight with Siri ("Log my weight in Loopa"); see Siri and Shortcuts. If you connected Apple Health, weigh-ins from a smart scale arrive by themselves; see Apple Health sync.

The Weight screen

Open it from the Health tab: The Log, Weight. You can also type scale, kg or weigh in into the Health search box. The Weight row opens your weigh-ins. It does not open the logging sheet; use the + button for that.

The screen lists your weigh-ins newest first. Each row shows:

  • the weight, in your unit (stones and pounds included);
  • the date, written as year, month and day;
  • the change since the previous weigh-in, in green when it went down or stayed the same and in the accent color when it went up.

The list goes back 90 days, or 30 days on Loopa Basic. There is no way to page further back on this screen. Your full history stays in your account and in every export.

With no weigh-ins yet the screen says "No weigh-ins yet" and "Log your weight from the + menu; every entry shows up here." If the list can't load you see an error with a retry button. Pull down to refresh.

The body-fat line

When you have a body-fat reading you logged yourself within three days of your latest weigh-in, a line at the top shows it: "Body fat" with the percentage, your lean and fat mass in your weight unit, and "Measured", or "Measured · reading from" and the date when the reading is from a different day. Only readings you logged or synced are shown here, never an estimate. Estimates are on the Body Fat screen; see The Body Fat screen.

Deleting a weigh-in

Swipe a row to the left and tap Delete. An alert asks "Delete this weigh-in?" with "This removes the weigh-in for that day." and the buttons Delete and Cancel. Confirm and that day's weight is removed and the list reloads. If the delete fails, the weigh-in is still in the list when it reloads; try again.

There is no edit on iPhone. To correct today's number, log it again: the new weigh-in replaces today's. To correct an earlier day, delete it. The browser Weight page can edit any day; see Weight tracking.

Where your trend and goal are

The Weight screen is a list. The trend chart, your goal line, your BMI and your projected arrival date are elsewhere:

Your goal weight itself is set under Health, My Loopa, Health Settings, Body & goal.

On Android

Android logs a weigh-in from a Log weight dialog with a Log button. Its weight history has a visible Delete button on each row instead of a swipe, and asks the same "Delete this weigh-in?" question.
